Victory for Louisiana's Coast Communities

Today, we celebrate a monumental victory for Louisiana’s coast and its communities. The court's decision to strike down the Commonwealth LNG project is not just a legal win; it’s a triumph for environmental justice. We will continue to stand firm against projects that threaten our wetlands and the livelihoods of low-income and communities of color. Together, we are taking vital steps toward protecting our coast from reckless LNG expansion and ensuring a sustainable future for all." Roishetta Ozane, Founder of The Vessel Project of Louisiana

Roishetta Ozane has for a long time been in opposition of Commonwealth LNG. She is an environmental justice leader and founder of The Vessel Project of Louisiana. The organization is a mutual aid, disaster relief, and environmental justice organization in Southwest Louisiana that advocates for communities impacted by industrial pollution and climate change. Ozane has been a vocal critic of Commonwealth LNG, stating the project would be a "death sentence for our coast and our region.”

Ozane has been a leading voice against Commonwealth LNG because she believes it will cause significant harm to the local environment and communities that are already overburdened with pollution.
